According to Enrique Rojas of ESPN, the Rockies have agreed to a one year extension with Rafael Betancourt. Betancourt is under contract for the 2011 season and the extension guarantees him $4 million in 2012 and includes a $4.25 million mutual option with $250,000 for Colorado to buy him out. If he denies his half of the deal there is no buyout, but if he is traded, the buyout is guaranteed. Betancourt posted a 3.61 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP over 62 1/3 innings last season with the Rockies.
