Reds sign Votto. Twins sign Casilla

The Reds have agreed to a 3-year $38 million deal with first baseman Joey Votto according to Buster Olney of ESPN. Votto is coming off a season where he won the NL MVP award with .324 batting average and a .424 OBP and 37 home runs and 113 RBI's.This deal will avoid all arbitration years with Votto. He will get $5.5 million in 2011, $9.5 million in 2012, and $17 million in 2013 with a $6 million signing bonus with $2.5 million up front according to Jon Heyman of SI.com

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Twins have agreed to a one-year deal with short stopAlexi Casilla worth $865,000. They avoid going to arbitration with Casilla. He hit .276 with a .331 OBP over 152 at bats.
