The Tigers have designated pitcher Armando Galarraga for assignment one day after they signed him to a $2.3 million contract. They also made the Penny deal official.
Corey Brock of MLB.com has reported that Gregg Zaun has signed a minor league contract with the Padres. Zaun will compete for the back up catchers job.
