The Diamondbacks have announced that they have signed catcher Miguel Montero to a one year deal worth $3.2 million, avoiding arbitration. Montero hit .266 with a .322 OBP in 331 plate appearances last season.
The Rockies announced that they signed Alfredo Amezaga to a minor league contract and invited him to Spring Training. The last time Amezaga played consistently was back in 2008 when he hit .264 with a .312 OBP that year and missed most of 2009 and all of 2010 after knee surgery.
