The Diamondbacks have agreed to sign super utility player Willie Bloomquist to a one-year, $1.05MM deal with a mutual option for 2012, according to Jon Heyman of SI.com. Bloomquist hit .267 with a meager .299 OBP last season with the Royals and Reds.
The Padres and Chat Qualls are close to a deal for one year worth close to $2 million reports Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com. Qualls had a 7.32 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP over 59 innings last season with the Diamondbacks and Rays.
