Twins sign Thome

The Twins have announced that they have signed slugger Jim Thome to a one-year contract worth $3 million with incentives for plate appearances. Thome was drawing interest from many different teams, with the Rangers at the forefront of the rumors, but decided in the end to go back to Minnesota. Thome his .283 with a .412 OBP  and 25 home runs for the Twins last season after being signed after the division rival White Sox declined to make him an offer.
