Tigers sign Galarraga

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Tigers have agreed to a one year contract worth $2.3 million with pitcher Armando Galarraga. Galarraga is well known for his perfect game that wasn't last season after umpire Jim Joyce made a clearly wrong call on the 27th out of the game to lose the perfect game and no hitter. The right hander has been in and out of the Tigers rotation in his career. In 2010, he had a 4.49 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP in 144 1/3 innings. For his career he owns a 4.58 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over 87 appearances. Galarraga will compete with Brad Penny for the fifth starters role in the Tigers rotation.
