ESPN has reported that The Cubs have traded LHP Tom Gorzelanny to the Washington Nationals for three minor league prospects, two pitchers and an outfielder. The deal is pending a physical. Gorzelanny posted a 4.09 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP in 136 1/3 innings.
Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com reports that outfielder Michael Burgess is one of the prospects going to the Cubs. Burgess hit .264 with a .357 OBP last season with the Nationals Single-A Advanced and Double-A clubs.
Right-hander A.J. Morris is also joining the Cubs, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson. Morris had a 3.77 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP over 86 innings last season with the Nationals Rookie level and Single-A Advanced clubs.
The Cubs will also get lefty Graham Hicks in the deal, according to MLB.com's Bill Ladson. Graham had a 5.02 ERA with a 1.56 WHIP in 71 2/3 innings.
